One way to teach them about money is to make a game out of it. Have some change available and let them win the change when asked a question. Make each question a different value. An example would be question number 1 would be worth 3 cents. Lay the money out for them to choose the three cents and if they do it correctly the first time they get to keep the money. Have some prizes at the end of the game so that they can purchase items again counting back the money to you to make that purchase. This will teach them how to count with out them realizing they are learning. To them it is just a game but they will learn how to count money.
Academically, parents can use preschool worksheets to help teach their children some of the basic skills they will need for kindergarten and school. What you can do to make working on printable worksheets more enjoyable for your child may often depend on the age and interests of the child. For example, older children may have to read a poem which is on the sheet and then write their own poem in the same sort of style. If they have been used to playing word games while growing up this should not be a problem, you just have to find a way of making the doing of it attractive. One thing that they might enjoy is if you put on a favourite cd and get them to see if they can use some of the main phrases from that in a different way, i.e. in the style of the poem.
